Sizing Information
Three sizes are available. Choose a size based upon your suit size. For reference, we also list the physical dimensions of each size back protector.
Physical Size:
Small: 21”L x 8”W
Medium: 24”L x 8”W
Large: 27”L x 8”W
Alpinestar’s recommended back protector size
for each suit size:
Small: 48 and below
Medium: 50 to 52
Large: 54 and up
These are European sizes, so if you want to see what size back protector would be a good fit in your non-European sized suit, subtract 10 from the sizes listed above for the equivalent US size.
Our Two Cents
This back protector is designed to be used under one piece race suits. Some Alpinestars suits have a snap at the top of the suit near the collar that will fasten this back protector in place, but there is no reason you couldn’t use this back protector in any one piece suit. There is an elastic waist band that fastens around your waist to stabilize the position of the back protector on your body. The waist band will adjust from about 30” up to about 42” (a bit more if you stretch it).
