A note about the Setup brand: Setup is a brand developed by Sidi a few years back. The idea was to design “value priced” boots for every-day riders that performed well for a reasonable price. The popularity of the boots has been good, but the recent devaluation of the dollar has short circuited the “value priced” part of the equation, so therefore the brand has been discontinued in the US. Sizing Information
Choose a men’s or women’s boot size using the Setup Size Conversion Chart. Setup boots are sized very similarly to Sidi boots, so if you have experience with Sidi sizing we suggest you buy the same size.
Our Two Cents
The Urban boot is ideal for those that need a boot to provide some protective features but also a boot that is comfortable to wear for everyday use. The height of this boot is similar to a work boot or hiker and the lace closure allows for a customized fit (take the View Larger Pictures link above to see the height and to see what they look like under jeans). There are ankle protection pads built into either side of the ankle bone for protection in case of a crash. The heel cup and toe cup are reinforced also for this purpose. I like the fully padded interior—especially the generous padding around the top edge of the boot. And somehow the styling makes my size 12 dogs look small! I like that. Caution: Be careful to keep your laces tied securely. This boot doesn’t have any means of securing the laces so if they came untied, it would be possible to hang them on a shifter or foot peg. That can be embarrassing when you roll to a stop to put your foot down!
