Our Two Cents

The Meteor 6.0 is the latest version of Joe Rocket’s best selling textile jacket, and they’ve added some creative new features. This jacket is known for its comfort, features and its climate control design. The jacket is 100% waterproof (well, I guess we all know no jacket is really 100% waterproof) and with the liner installed should be able to stand up to even the harshest of riding weather. The outer shell is a water-resistant nylon and the jacket also has a traditional nylon mesh interior lining. Between those two layers is a waterproof mid-liner. Venting is always an issue with a waterproof design and with this jacket, Joe Rocket offers large front zippers that have waterproof rubber strips that cover the zipper when closed. As I mentioned above, nothing can be completely water tight, but this approach may come as close as any. In addition to the two front torso vents, the jacket has sleeve vents and two large rear exhaust vents. The inner flaps of the two large chest vents and the two large rear vents can be snapped together holding them open in a manor that looks like it would be very effective. The jacket comes with removable CE approved armor in the shoulders and elbow along with a backpad that can be upgraded to an optional CE approved back protector. The jacket has an adjustable waist, sleeves and wrist closures making it easy to get a good fit. There is a reflective strip outlining the front and back of the jacket for increased nighttime visibility. There are also belt loop attachments that can be used to help keep the jacket from riding up in the tuck riding position (when not zipped to pants).
